Q: Share a memory or experience associated with a particular type of food or a specific meal.
A: One of my favorite meals is sushi at Rusan's. Rusan's is an edgy sushi bar off of Barret Parkway. i love to indulge on thier California rolls, crunchy crab rolls, and vegetable fried rice.
I had never tried sushi before the age of eighteen. I had always been a bit apprehensive about eating anything not fully cooked. I never thought I would even try it.

One Valentine's day a few years back I had just started dating a guy that I was really interested in. I remember how hard I had tried to impress him. I had went to the tanning bed, got my nails done, bought a new dress from BeBe and heels to match. I have never felt as beautiful as I did that night. When we were in the car i still didn't know where he was taking me. When he pulled in the shopping centerI saw Olive Garden and got excited. He drove past Olive Garden and parked in front of Rusan's. Finally he informed me we were having sushi. My heart sank. I really wanted to impress him but I was grossed out by the idea of eating raw fish. I pretended to be excited. Inside we began talking and my nerves settled. The waiter came twice to ask us if we were ready to order. I read the ingrediants under each roll on the menu and finally found one i felt comfortable with, the California roll which consisted of avacado cucumber and crab meat. All were things that I loved. When my plate arrived I was still quite intiminated by it. I watched Bobby use his chopsticks like a pro and I had no chopsticks skill what so ever. At least it was an ice breaker. I remember trying the Wasabi in the corner of my plate thinking that it was extra avacado on the side. Besides that epic FAIL, we ended up having the best time and he asked me to be his girlfriend. Rusan's has become a regular spot that we go with friends. The night he proposed to me two years later we atesushi. I always think about the very first time I ate sushi every time I eat it.
